@johnvoorhees Sure. But shouldn’t a design critic be designing their site to be accessible before being whimsical? Your site is a great example.

Having to use Reader Mode is like having to go into Apple’s accessibility settings to make iOS work. I get that it’s unfair to compare an indie designer to a multi-trillion $ corp, but not obscuring your work costs $0.

I don’t log everything I read but this is the third ‘Tahoe Takedown’ I’ve been sent from a blog that has not just obvious but *egregious* default behavior in terms of baseline accessibility standards. I agree with the criticism, but it’s coming from critics almost comically lacking in self awareness.

@johnvoorhees why can’t any of these people writing (correct) takedowns of Tahoe design baseline useable blogs themselves? Why is there snow falling in front of the text? Why does clicking the tiny ‘snow’ icon in the top of the post change the background color? Why are the other Tahoe takedowns published on websites with accessibility settings made intentionally inaccessible? Why are they by authors who intentionally chose thin #xFFF fonts on pure black? No self awareness at all.
