Last night Viv and I took Indie to the Satsung that he likes to go to with his mum. I dressed her in this cute onesie with dogs on it, and we got so many, “Oh, so this is your darling son!”, “How handsome!” etc. 😑 News just in I guess – dogs are just for boys now! Girls keep away!! Poor Gidget had a very bad no good day today, with her annual check-up and vaccination appointment at the vet! Thankfully her health looked all good, except that uh… her anal glands had to be manually expressed 😆 At least the vet gave her a Churu for her trouble.

I am seeing a lot of complaints from people around the world about the current price of eggs. At my local supermarket, there no longer even are eggs. The shelves where the eggs used to be are now filled with Easter chocolate. The six eggs still left in our fridge are gonna have to be rationed.

And yeah, it’s summer. As far as I can tell it IS just a cold though, because Viv and I (who are also sick) both did 3-in-1 Covid/RSV/flu tests, and were negative to everything. And it doesn’t seem severe. It’s all brand new to Indie, though…

@ericmwalk If only Obsidian Sync weren’t so expensive! Also, funnily enough, I feel like my sync issues go the opposite way – sync from my computer to my phone is fast (maybe too fast 😒), while sync from the phone to the computer seems very slow and unreliable.

@aeryn Once I lost 3,000 words of my honours thesis because Microsoft OneDrive decided to overwrite the up-to-date version on my laptop with the outdated version on its server 🙁 Since then I’ve tried to be cautious, but Obsidian is so like “don’t even worry about it, we handle that in the background” that my caution isn’t very effective. re: upbringings, I think my mum was very much of the “stay at home when you’re sick” mindset, while my dad was (and is) more like “if you’re not basically dying you’re perfectly capable of school/work”. So, as a kid, I’d end up staying home sick with my mum while my dad was passive-aggressive about it 🙃 But I think as time has gone on, and especially with the pandemic, my mum has been vindicated. We really have to resist the guilt-tripping that it’s “lazy” to take care of yourself during an illness.
