@TimWardCam @nevillehobson Most day-to-day functionality is now in the Settings app in Win 10/11, making the Control Panel even more useless. Some hold outs still, such as you pointed out. It won't matter much, though, for the average user unlikely to venture into EnvVar and others. All will likely be better once Microsoft unifies everything into a single Settings app.

@simonwood @nevillehobson @Elgato yes, it's livable with. Maybe it's a big deal for Elgato to enable a different date format. I believe it's hard-coded in the software, so this would apply to any Elgato stream deck project. It also suggests to me that their focus is very much US only. @Helene Good points, Helene. I think \"Pebble formerly known as T2\" will wear off sooner or later. X, though, is stuck with its reference as brand familiarity with Twitter is huge and global and there is confusion with logos (among other things).

I agree with you that the T2 name change probably was a big factor in failure. I did like T2 a lot, not so enamoured of Pebble.

@elk Let me correct that. I'm not running Elk app for Windows (I don't think there is such an app) but Elk in Chome that lets you install it as an app. So it's a browser window without all the normal decoration you see in the browser.

So how do I install Elk that I open as a normal browser tab or window, as an app? If I select the 'Open in Elk' option in the drop-down Chrome menu, it opens but only with a single account. @elk ?

@davdittrich @corbin Ok, but I'm entirely not sure what the compelling benefit of that is to an average user. For instance, it wouldn't make me want to change from a) using the 'Share to Mastodon' browser extension to share stories on Mastodon; or b) using Buffer if I want to schedule posts to Mastodon.

@davdittrich @corbin That's a good option with way more bells and whistles than simply publishing a story link to #Mastodon. For scheduling posts to Mastodon, though, I much prefer a dedicated content scheduling and publishing platform such as #Buffer not a browser extension. What's great is that such choices are becoming available, all adding to the Mastodon experience.
