I’m working on a little tool for my research: Carrel, a local workbench for archival photos. I imported my ~1,700 sources from Tropy and can now send off documents to be transcribed by an LLM. Results are reviewed and edited in Carrel, then can be sent to Obsidian. Pretty happy with it so far.

I don’t understand the point of Safari’s auto-grouping tabs. I can send tabs to Tab Groups. And Safari can “smartly\"organize tabs into groups. But I cannot make my own grouped tabs in the current browser window / tab group I have open?

@jabel @dwalbert Interesting of a sort I suppose 😂 My surname likely derives from the Middle High German word heppe which was a curved knife used in vineyards and orchards. I mentioned this to a friend who promptly gave me the nickname. Spread far enough that even some of my professors used it 🤣

I’m preparing a short workshop on HTML and CSS today. As part of that, I’m giving a brief history of the web and realized that just 3 to 5 years after CERN open sourced its web software is when I made my first website. I’ve been building things on the web for thirty years!
