Some machine learning tools are transformational, but they're always about niche applications.
LLMs as such basically don't work. The harnesses work, and eventually the underlying LLMs will get pruned down to nothing.

I've been following this for a while. I think the underlying race was always happening, but over the iterations sometimes got triggered rarely, and sometimes nearly every time.
I understand (and share) the concern, but in this specific instance, I blame the chip.

Coal is very much genocidal tech, and pushing it over nuclear makes you in my eyes a mass murder supporter.

Zach is right, and you also highlighted why it's a difficult argument: many want the argument to be that it's Chinese planning that caused the success. But in fact, Chinese planning causes much imbalance, waste and global issues, whereas the positive forces were trade and freer economy.

There is no solution, fundamentally: the machine spits out correct patterns correctly, but doesn't know that these are the right patterns, the right problem, the right solution.
you have to do that.
Now, I don't know about you, but the way I get to the answers to the above is by implementing and recognising the feel...

There is no theory of change. If I had lived in the 16th century, and refused slavery (a greater evil, to be fair) I would similarly not have changed anything.
But exchanging freewill for a shiny slot machine is bad, and shouldn't be done, ever. And eventually, people will accept that as true.
So perhaps there is a theory of change. Just not short term.
