@khurtwilliams Nation of Millions was on constant rotation on my Walkman when that album hit. I’ve never heard anything like it since. Fear of a Black Planet is better produced but doesn’t capture the same intensity.
\nBut this remix… I’m sentimental about it.
\nEarlier in the evening, we went to a Loony Toons film festival and laughed ourselves into tears. Afterward, we walked to the radio station I worked at and got drenched in a rainfall on the way there.
\nThis song was playing over the office speaker while we were there drying off. The deejay was in the zone and provided the perfect soundtrack for our evening.

\nGenius and Soul, a new show launching January 1st, 2022. The show will feature a series of mixes from guest deejays from Jazz and Black Classical Music to the many styles and branches of today’s scene. Our show’s efforts will also include fundraising for the Jazz Foundation of America and other relevant charitable organizations.
\nSome people who will guest deejay on the show are legendary composer pianist flautist Brian Jackson; educator, DJ, composer and record producer King Britt; singer/songwriter, jazz pianist, organist, vocalist, composer, and arranger Amina Claudine Myers; and music journalist Phil Freeman.
