I understand that the adaptation was poorly received on first release, but watching now unaware of the original context, Bonfire Of The Vanities is such a fun, quirky satire on media, politics, law and class very much in the spirit of Vanity Fair. A DePalma classic.

@chrisd I saw it once on late night television in the mid 90s. I cannot say that I liked it, or that I ever want to see it again, but images and atmosphere from it have stuck with me my entire life.

A nice design element which they didn’t really have to do, but made a huge difference.
