A bitmap font. In BDF format. The format used by X11. In ancient times. I re-read enough man pages (re-read in the sense that i already read them in the 1990s) to work out how to get, ancient, X11 apps to use my font. Here is `xman` using my BDF font. It's tiny (it's not intended to be used at this size). The font has Cap-height 10 with an em of 13-pixels. The cheap 1920x1080 TV that i am using is almost exactly 100dpi, which makes this equivalent to physical type of about 9.4pt (on 11.5pt linespacing). Haha.
This proofing is great. I am immediately off to edit the font :)

I just got tagged in on a thread where i got explained that it's simple to use new_posix_function() to replace ancient_unix_function(), the confusion is the man pages, and the spec, but the thing itself is simple, unless it's not, but there's an extension for that, which posix standardised, but not everyone uses the standard, even when they implement the extension, and you need another extension for this other thing, which is widely implemented, except when it's not, but actually it's the documentation that's wrong, not the header file. It's simpler.

I notice that after reading \"Learning the vi editor\" i'm using more vi powers. It's mostly stuff i knew and used, but had fallen away more recently.
