Started and finished the first SteamWorld Dig this weekend after finishing the 2nd a couple weeks ago. The sequel definitely had a lot more content and quality of life improvements. It was still mostly enjoyable if not short. Well worth the $1.99 sale price. 🎮

Audiovisually, the new 🎮Star Fox is a masterpiece. The campaign is a 1:1 recreation of Star Fox 64 but the multiplayer is an excellent (if barebones) modernisation. The updated story and dialogue clarify the premise, world and lore in some charming ways but otherwise leave a lot to be desired.

🎮📱 Pokémon Champions just launched on mobile, and I’d say it’s significantly better-looking on a phone screen than on the Switch 2. It seems clear it’s designed and optimised as a mobile game first, everything else second.

Started playing Cyberpunk 2077 and I don’t know if I’m getting old or have been playing too many metroidvanias, but this game has almost too much going on. Every time I go into the menus I’m selecting something wrong, I’m almost over stimulated with everything happening, and I’m overwhelmed. 🎮

Started playing a new metroidvania called Before I Go. Jacy played it a couple weeks ago and it looked interesting. More Metroid than -vania and like most indie games, it’s an allegory about death and acceptance. The pew-pews are very satisfying. 🎮
