📺 finished _Paradise_ season 2 last night. Still feels like \"Lost meets This Is Us\" for good and for ill.

It ended with the type of \"reveal\" I had been expecting since earlier in the season. A revelation which has my spouse saying \"No thanks, I'm done with this show\".

We'll see if I pick up the next season.

Watched: Deadwax Season 1 📺 A short form horror for vinyl record lovers. Like The Ninth Gate a tracker gets drawn into assembling a cursed item at the behest of an obsessed wealthy person. This is soaked in noir dread that builds through the episodes. A good supernatural mystery.

Goodness, what a special show. Right up there with Trying as one of my favorites from Apple TV.

Every episode was so good. Equally spit take funny and heartwarming. The season’s arc, as a whole, was perhaps not as cohesive as past ones, but I still loved it.

📺 It: Welome to Derry (2025) had more hits than misses, even while comitting the cardinal sin of prequels which is to overexplain. There is gore, of course, all CGI and gamified to the point of being camp. It is just as well: the greatest horror remains in the anticipation of the unseen.
