I see that JetPens is listing the Yamamoto Ro-Biki Notebooks as their #1 choice for pocket notebooks. I’ve been using these for about a year now. Field Notes are nice, but these are nicer.

I have to run a few apps that work only on Windows. I’ve wasted oodles of time looking for alternatives that run natively on macOS and Linux. I’ve finally broken down and resurrected my lone Windows machine and configured it for remote access. It’s really as bad as I remember.

Today I noticed that the exposure compensation control on the Ricoh GR IV is right under my thumb as I handle the camera. I need to check it occasionally since not all the accidental adjustments are appreciated. Still love the little bugger though.

It’s not bad out now, but snow should begin about 7pm this evening and last until Monday morning. The weather apps are saying about 24 inches of wet snow total, but that could change depending on how the band sets up.

@frankm I found the Daylight DC-1 to have a lack of that kind of focus. I would imaging the Boox (or any other Android based tablet) to have the same issue. I really like the reMarkables focus on writing and drawing, but it turns out that the interoperability I would like isn’t there. For example, I’d like to cut a rectangle of writing and paste it as a PNG or JPEG with a common clipboard. I can do that with 3rd party tools but it’s extra steps. Or, I’d like to write and post a page either as written or converted to Day One, but the conversion from handwriting to text, while reasonably accurate, is clumsily formatted and correcting that on the tablet is a pain.
