Working and taking classes is challenging. I’m always impressed by non-traditional students who manage to work, raise children, and complete their degrees. Taking classes outside my profession has made me appreciate the work and sacrifices of non-traditional students.

@pimoore I tried that and it works. If reminders continues improving, I may switch. For now, I still like the Things 3 UI, but there are advantages to a native Apple app if you are in that ecosystem.

@numericcitizen I agree that Reminders is nearly as good. Although I currently use Things 3, I have been contemplating the possibility of transitioning to Apple Reminders. I haven’t yet, because things will allow you to set both a deadline and also a date to start working on a task. I also like it’s ability to create templates (I have one for a packing list) and repeating to dos. I think reminders can come close to these functions, but I don’t think it quite has them yet, and I also find Things 3 to be a well polished app that I enjoy using.

I’m concerned about evidence that seems to show social media is harmful to children and teens (and likely adults as well). I’m also concerned about privacy issues and data breaches.

@Cheri I am really glad to hear it has been a positive for you. Some people have business that almost require it and @joeCotellese may be in that position. It may have a modest impact on my website SEO, but I don’t think it will be significant.

I wish I would not lose some of the history (past photos and record of life events) that are on social media, but I think that is part of their strategy in creating an illusion that you need their product.

@JoeCotellese I have a business as well. I don’t think it would make a big difference to my business if my Facebook page were gone. However, there are some team members who can keep it up if needed. I plan to cancel my other social media accounts for several reasons, but primarily, privacy and security, ownership of data, and evidence (which the social media companies apparantly hide) that social media is harmful to the mental health of children and teens. I still have some posts I am searching for to migrate over. I will miss connecting with friends on social media, but I don’t think it is worth remaining on those platforms given the concerns.

@macgenie I made my first microcast today. I realize it probably up to the author, but is it a best practice to have a separate page for microcasts? How can I create pages in which audiopodcasts automatically go to one page, video casts to another page, micro.blog posts to another page, and long blog posts to yet another page?
