@danielinoa The whole stealth in-app purchase system. It was user hostile because it caused the app to be removed from the App Store, which users had been using. They could readily have brought their court case without doing that.

@pratik The marketplace needs to have an app in order to offer apps to install. The marketplace app itself is installed from a website, not Apple’s App Store. The marketplace app itself is under the same terms as other apps, except that it does not get the 1 million install exemption on the CTF; it has to pay from install 1.

@manton I would see it as the legal difference found by Epic between iOS and Android: iOS is sold as a closed system and Android is sold as an open one (that Google tried to get the equivalent of a closed system on top of). In that case, macOS falls under the “sold as open” model.

@manton Long uptimes like that scare me. You don’t know that your system configuration will work in an emergency reboot situation. Best to plan a time to reboot when you’re prepared for it. I generally like to reboot at least once per year.
