Unfortunately, this seems to be a common pattern in tech, but fortunately, the stakes are usually low, just an editor choice or whatever. You can ignore them and it's fine.
What makes it so caustic and frustrating with AI is the stakes are not low; they're really high. Because of that, anyone with this attitude tends to encounter much more resistance than they're used to, and I think it causes a bit to flip where they're suddenly feeling called out and have no framework to handle that. It's really driving home to me how many tech people just have never had to deal with the fact they might be on the losing side, and how poorly they deal with it.

Just like with real debt, with tech debt, I mostly look at how much \"interest\" we're paying. How much are we paying with dev speed? with compatibility? with security? If the answers to all of those are low to nil, it's fine debt, just let it be. If they're high, might be time to pay down the debt.
