I'm staying in a beautiful town called Akranes with a lovely Icelandic family. I'm working part time in exchange for accommodation and food, and I'm able to test my camping/hiking equipment on my days off. It cost 8 euros per night and included water + clean toilets. We loved it because there was nobody around and it was in a beautiful mountainous area with some fantastic trails and viewpoints of Picos de Europa. A bit tricky to get here on the narrow winding road, but well worth the trip!
