I would have done the same. It's a lot harder to buy for second and third iOS apps, though. Especially considering I am an iOS dev like Manton. I've heard Manton say he's not interested in Android. It's personal choice not to support his Android users to some degree and we should at least acknowledge that.

I think there are lots of options, and that it's Manton's prerogative to not try them. For point 2, I don't think it's fair to say it's too early to have enough team members to move things faster (if I understood you correctly) because of my example about three separate iOS apps being created and maintained while Android doesn't have one, and the API docs aren't well designed or maintained. There are very clear decisions being made about where to spend the available person hours that don't make me hopeful about what would happen with an extra team member available.

But wouldn't you still have to export the data from Twitter? I guess I'd call that permanence, rather than ownership. If the Twitter server went down, you couldn't see or export your data. Their servers host your content, so I don't think you control it just because you control the urls for it. I think permanence is really important, too, and a worthy goal! I just think there's more to ownership than that. But thanks for explaining. I was definitely misunderstanding the idea before.

I love Xcode's docs pop-ups. I love AppCode's line guides. I love that AppCode suggests a method implementation when I call a method I haven't written yet. I love how Xcode tells me the parameters of a method as I'm calling it. They both have strengths, is all I'm saying.
