They also gave out a free reset so we don't feel so bad about running into the limit.

@clarko I keep looking at those too. Very enticing switches for the price. But some reviews keep saying that they crap out after some time. Part of me keeps thinking it’s a conspiracy so people don’t buy them or all the other manufacturers will have to then also lower the price. Heading into ikea next week and I might just pick them up.

@johnvoorhees Guilty. It’s taken me getting to v3.5 to get an iPad-centric update out. The switch finally flipped for me when I personally started spending more time on the iPad for designing screenshots and the app icons. Then I would load my app and noticed how it basically felt like a second thought. In hindsight, the answer was obvious. I’d pay more attention to features and bugs wherever I used it the most.

@stroughtonsmith I’ve been thinking about using these as a way for existing subscribers to share/gift discounted prices with family and friends. It’s a link after all that can be presented to them that they can forward. Pocket Casts offers something similar for pro users.

@mattiem @_Davidsmith Shouldn't these be considered the source of truth because they are coming from Apple themselves? The craftiness comes from the developer while compiler and system efficient code comes from Apple. Not arguing that Apple will always produce system efficient code but it's the closest thing to truth than anything else for Xcode work.

@kyle I'm a civil engineer in my day job so it's been fascinating to see the software industry from the \"outside\" in the past few years. The closest thing I can think of that has happened to my circle of work that's similar is introduction of CAD software. The more experienced/retired/close to retiring coworkers always mention the drafting tables that used to be present just not that long ago. Now everything is computer aided.

@johnvoorhees @stroughtonsmith And the remaining effort of publishing and marketing are still there and haven’t been automated like software creation: discovery in the App Store is still related to ad spend. Or software that makes it long term have to solve the problems for the masses and tell a good story. All this has made one door easy to open (which is fantastic) but there are plenty more doors to get through still.

@designatednerd You can screen share with FaceTime. You point at elements and they get annotated for the other person. You can also take control of the device. Works wonders when my family has questions or need something set up.
