@daj I have a notebook that is part commonplace book. I recently opened up a past notebook and was amazed at all of the notes and quotes and references and sketches it included. Have you read The Notebook by Roland Allen? I enjoyed the history and the explanation of commonplace books.

Every year about now, I start calling the hotline at Levering Orchard in Galax, Virginia to learn when the one day of sour cherry picking will occur. As I feared, though, there’s bad news for this year:

Because of the freeze, the cherries were killed in 2026 and we will not be open for cherry season.

@rscottjones yes the trail to Observation Point from inside canyon was destroyed by landslide. We contemplated the east rim trail to the point but since we needed to get back to Vegas choose to visit Snow Canyon State Park (which was spectacular as you know).
