Depends on what privacy you value.
People often say: \"I have nothing to hide.\" As if privacy has no value at all. My counter argument would be:
Commercial companies spend billions in collecting our private information and profile us as accurately as possible. They don't go through all this effort to help or assist us. They spend all that money to make even more money from our information and us.
It is ok if you gave your consent?
Do people fully understand what they consent to?

Asking something once and only once would not be considered harassment, given the question is: \"sorry is there a particular reason why you blocked me?\" Asking the same or very similar question twice or more should be classified as harassment and is definitely not ok.
Please understand that some people need help to understand what just happened. Please don't mistake technical people who sometimes miss social cues with misagionistic people who misbehave on purpose.

It could be a cultural difference. In German and Dutch culture I expect about half of the people to choose to inform the accounthouder of the upcoming block and the reasoning behind it. This is in no way obligatory. However in Germany it might be considered 'rude' not to inform and fail to supply a reason. In the Netherlands probably less so.
Both cultures have a strong component of being 'brutally helpful'. In that aspect very different to Anglo-Saxon cultures.

People have no idea about the data all those devices collect. Therefore people need to be protected against those threats.

Usage patterns of household appliances are a perfect way to analyse peoples' daily routines. Privacy is more than your name and birthday. It's also about when you have a cup of tea and when you do your laundry.
Besides that you don't want third party devices snooping around on your network. Let's face it, in 99% of households all devices live in the same network. People do not have an IoT subnet with its own firewall rules.

Hernieuwbare energie wordt met het jaar goedkoper en is buitengewoon schaalbaar. Windturbines zijn betrekkelijk eenvoudige technologie. Nucleaire energie wordt met het jaar duurder en is slecht schaalbaar. Voor meer capaciteit moet je een lang traject in om een zeer ingewikkelde centrale neer te zetten.

De berekening is simpel. Wanneer twee kerncentrales rond het jaar 2035 20-30 miljard kosten dan kosten vier centrales 40-60 miljard. Ze zijn naar verwachting niet in 2035 maar pas na 2045 gereed. Reken tegen die tijd daarom op een bedrag dat tegen de 100 miljard ligt.

Quite on the contrary.
Like anyone in the industry of software development the best protection is good architecture, good coding and good reviewing.
To error is human and mistakes happen. Having good practices reduces the impart of those mistakes to the absolute minimum.
A #slopmachine will for sure find something that is worth a CVE. The question is how serious the issue will be and how difficult it will be to exploit.

The point I was trying to get across is that my key worrie is if this service is able to successfully identify and filter out rogue instances and spam bots? Or will bad actors be able to freely spam massive numbers of subscribers to this service like we see hashtags spam on the centralized social media platforms like the death bird site and blues ky?

The thing here is that there is a difference between instances that have never been federated with the instance my account is on and instances that have been defederated by that instance. The end result is however the same. Posts won't be shown and there is probably a reason for not showing posts of unfederated or defederated instances. It keeps out spam bots and rogue instances.
