Thus far, the consensus is a big thumbs up. The tool—which exists as a web, native, and mobile app—is intuitive, visually appealing, and allows you to make checklists as simple or detailed as desired.
\n\nSome highlights of Trello that I’ve particularly enjoyed:
\n\nYou can create multiple boards to keep things organized. From a corporate perspective, this would be an amazing feature to organize different departments, groups, projects, etc. For someone who wants everything on one page because her memory is less than reliable, one board is plenty to manage.
You can add, remove, and edit lists. The boards default to “To Do”, “Doing”, and “Done”. I originally kept it in this layout but decided to organize by class instead so that I can still see it all in one page but have it a bit more easily laid out. I did, however, keep the “Done” list in my board—nothing more satisfying than seeing the accumulation of completed tasks as my to-do’s grow exponentially!
You can change the background color. It defaults to a bright green, but I’ve opted for a tropical blue to make it feel a little more ~zen~. This is a feature that seems like a nice-to-have, but when thinking about how we function, color is a huge part of any experience. Additionally, the feelings colors convey varies from person to person, making the catered experience of organization that much more enjoyable.
You can make it a simple checklist or a built-out project management tool. What I love most about Trello is how customizable it is to my ever-differing needs. Some of my daily tasks only warrant a blurb reminding me that it needs to be done. Some, however, are lengthy, complex, and detailed. With options to add descriptions, due dates, checklists, and more in each individual to-do card, I’m able to build out what needs details and keep simplicity where it fits best. You can also add other Trello members to certain boards, lists, or cards, so they can track along on the tasks as well.
If you feel like your life is in shambles or you get pleasure out of the sincerest of organized bliss, give Trello a whirl—with highest recommendations from yours truly.
