Would the \"starter and ballast\" stop the LED light from working though? I assume ( I did the lessons decades ago, so now electricity is essentially magic pixies running up and down tunnels ) that the starter is needed to provide extra pixies to get something started, which it *seems* an LED might need, but a CFL doesn't - so this *not* being in place would be a problem?
Unfortunately the cheapest option looks like using CFL lights and having to replace them more often :(
