I didn’t like his “I imagine” and “knowing”, or that sarcastic “things have a way of disappearing in these hills”. Politics aside,  it’s a speaker projecting his point of view onto something he doesn’t know.</p>\n<p>About your comments on “Bombing Gaza”, I wonder if it matters that the last word in the poem was “Hamas” and not “Gaza”? You say “Hamas/Gaza” and then move from there to just “Gaza”.</p>\n<p>I think it was a bad poem, but not a justification of attacks on civilians. Unless it was a sneaky way of endorsing just that (alluding to Sodom and Gomorrah, entire cities) while overtly denying it (“Hamas”), which would be truly barbaric.</p>\n<p>Anyway, I liked your review of this poet I’d never heard of.
