One of the best movies in the last decade, IMO. Hey, and the Motion Picture Academy has said puppeted characters are now eligible for best-supporting Oscar. Give James \"Rocky\" Ortiz a statue!

Also, take heart, all you book-was-better nerds, the film editor said they had a 6-hour rough cut they chopped down to 3.5-hours for the initial audience screener. (Which tested well even at that length.) So, there's plenty of material for an extended cut with the extra science you missed.
","url":"https://mindly.social/users/PixelJones/statuses/116527879718689937","date_published":"2026-05-06T13:32:16+00:00","author":{"name":"PixelJones","url":"https://mindly.social/@PixelJones","avatar":"https://cdn.micro.blog/photos/96/https%3A%2F%2Fa.mindlycdn.com%2Faccounts%2Favatars%2F109%2F331%2F840%2F260%2F703%2F621%2Foriginal%2Fc5dcd742536fdd59.jpg","_microblog":{"username":"PixelJones@mindly.social"}},"_microblog":{"date_relative":"2026-05-06 13:32","date_timestamp":1778074336,"is_favorite":false,"is_bookmark":false,"is_deletable":false,"is_conversation":true,"is_linkpost":false,"is_mention":true}},{"id":"89703399","content_html":"
@only_ohm @fesshole

True, he could be a better detective but one problem with the scourge of mobile device use (especially on mass transit) is that you _can't_ easily see what people are reading/listening-to and earbuds mean people keep to themselves.

Even 10 years ago, I could occasionally glance at a fellow passenger and give a nod, \"I read that\" at their book or \"That sure was bad crash\" based on their newspaper page but that's all but impossible now.

I think better advice for this young mand would be peacock a bit in the opposite direction, carry a book or vinyl record and sit nearby.
