That’s a big lump to drop on people’s timelines.
\n
And @ffmike raises a good point. I don’t care about like and boost counts. I don’t care whether that information is public so by all means hide it. I just want to see the likes on my own posts and see other people’s boosts.
\n
I think if you supported likes, reposts and lists, I could migrate my Mastodon to Micro.blog for good. Same for Bluesky!
\n
Even better: Support the Mastodon API and I could use a nifty Mastodon client (I’m currently liking Indigo.)
\n
I’m not expecting this to be done this week. Next week is good! :)
\n","url":"https://micro.blog/MitchWagner/93220884","date_published":"2026-07-01T02:22:55+00:00","author":{"name":"Mitch Wagner","url":"https://mitchwagner.com","avatar":"https://cdn.micro.blog/photos/96/https%3A%2F%2Favatars.micro.blog%2Favatars%2F2026%2F26%2F2611.jpg","_microblog":{"username":"MitchWagner"}},"_microblog":{"date_relative":"2026-07-01 02:22","date_timestamp":1782872575,"is_favorite":false,"is_bookmark":false,"is_deletable":false,"is_conversation":true,"is_linkpost":false,"is_mention":true}},{"id":"93211300","content_html":"
@manton Your willingness to hear suggestions and take them seriously is one of the things I like best about Micro.blog.
\n
With that, here are two more: I’d love it if Micro.blog supported Reddit, Mastodon, BlueSky and Tumblr embeds. Apple succeeds by taking clunky-but-somewhat-popular categories and making them better. Though I quibble with the inclusion of AppleTV on that list — it’s a hobby product for Apple, without mainstream appeal.
\n
But the problem for Apple and other smart glasses vendors is bigger than that. Smart glasses and VR headsets are niche products. Most people don’t want them and don’t have a use for them.
