The rejection algorithms look at differences frame to frame and reject outliers like satellites trails. Another thing to know, is that shot was wide field, the entire sky. Telescopes image a pin prick size of the full size, so the likely hood of a satellite trail crossing the frame is certainly less than what it looks like. In any given 10 minute exposure I can have as many as 3-4 satellites in one frame out of about 50 frames for the evening.
