Yet I'd often find that there was something about the fully private digital journal which enabled a real laxity of thought and presentation in my construction of the written word.\n\nI often looked back at old entries, when the tides of thought and emotion had long since shifted and think: *'man, if only I'd put a bit more effort into developing this into something a visitor could make sense of, it'd really be worth so much more to me now!'*\n\nIt's not so much writing with an audience in mind (indeed, I expect  few if any web travellers will *ever* find their way to this little alcove of my mind); but rather to encourage me to write in a way which prizes posterity.\n\nAlso, setting aside all the sentimental guff, I'm about to move to London, so it's probably worth capturing bits and bobs even if just for my future self's benefit!\n","pronouns":"","is_following":false,"is_you":false,"following_count":8,"discover_count":0},"author":{"name":"Hugh Stevenson","url":"","avatar":"https://avatars.micro.blog/avatars/2026/22/1548391.jpg"},"items":[]}
