The Toyota/Lexus ones always start in all electric mode; and will not move to hybrid mode until you hit over 85 MPH (and a few other rare circumstances) or until you hit the button to do so - floor it all you want, it stays electric only. I think this may be due to the fact that they seem to be using more powerful electric motors than Volvo (the latter uses more powerful gas engines). I have a NX 450h+; love it.
