@FediVideo I totally understand why one would react to this change in a negative way. However, myself being a minority and subject to more hate speech than the people that see themselves as the superior race, have never seen the group of people I belong to mentioned specifically in hate speech policies. That doesn't mean I never felt less protected by them. It's not like YouTube now supports hate speech towards certain groups just because they don't mention them anymore.

@stux Fediverse users seem to have little tolerance. I was used to getting daily reports pointing at spam, scams, and harassment. On the fediverse, I'm getting reports about opinions (even with scientific references) that people don't like. Pictures of food and people's faces not having been marked as sensitive. Makes me wonder if these are people living in a place without grocery stores and where everyone is required to wear sunglasses. There must be a more suitable instance for these folks.

@atoponce So what you're saying is that iMessage chats stored on iCloud also are stored in clear text on Apple’s servers as you restore your private chats when you reset your phone or buy a new one, in a nearly identical way. So Apple is like Telegram, not telling the truth when they explain how their on server encryption works.

@atoponce For years I've been asking for a good source that can confirm that Telegram messages are stored in plain text on Telegram servers. Nobody answered. I hope you can. Because from what I myself can see from the design of the Telegram plattform, messages that are not part of a public channel or group are stored encrypted. However, Telegram owns the keys. And starting a secret chat on Telegram is E2EE, just using a different protocol.

@grumpygamer Users transitioning from Mastodon to Bluesky seem to have missed the point of Mastodon and the Fediverse, and why it’s better than Bluesky. Luckily, Mastodon is still decentralized, which gives it all the advantages that come with it. Bluesky, on the other hand, is not decentralized, even though they claim to be. In a few years, Bluesky will likely end up like Twitter/X, and people will start looking for alternatives again, forgetting all about Mastodon ever existed.
