New B5 themed phone setup. This is one of my favourites, and a re-watch is called for methinks.

iPhone home and lock screen setup. Lock screen has an Earth Alliance wallpaper from the Babylon 5 sci-fi series. No widgets, and gold coloured digital clock font. Home Screen has a CARROT Weather widget at the top, two rows of icons, and a blurred version of the same wallpaper.

@pimoore was talking about doing this myself with a colleague over lunch yesterday. We both agreed S2-3 are the best and do you really need to watch 4-5 again.

@meandering Seasons 3&4 were definitely my favourites, but I truly enjoyed the entire series. Hard to pick top characters amongst a show full of winners, but if I had to choose it would be Delenn and G’Kar.

@jasonekratz Yeah, the pilot was admittedly questionable. Though to be fair, most pilots I’ve seen have been less than stellar. Star Trek TNG had a terrible pilot, IMO, and even the first couple of seasons were rough. Yet it turned out to be a brilliant and, for me, impactful series.

@alpower B5 stands for Babylon 5, an incredible sci-fi series and my personal favourite of all time. If that genre is your thing, I can’t recommend watching this enough. Some of the strongest and most memorable characters and development in any show I’ve ever watched. And accompanying plot lines and story that truly shine.

@pimoore Hmm, maybe I have to give it another shot. I just watched a couple of episodes midway through. I remember thinking it was strange that “Luke” was in space, and (unrelated) I also remember someone saying they used Amiga computers to create the lens flare effects.

@odd I can see that, as the effects have their own unique look and charm in the show. Different from series such as Star Treks, which I believe used model-based effects, but still fantastic.

@pimoore @alpower I'm another fan. I've rewatched the show many times and on each rewatch have noticed things in earlier episodes that play out in later episodes. That's because one person, JMS, wrote the entire show and had it all planned out from start to finish so knew what what coming up and how to foreshadow it. While it can take a bit to get into the first season which weaves together a bunch of seemingly disparate strands and season 5 wasn't my favourite, the three middle seasons were enormously powerful and enjoyable. I found the overall finale so moving I couldn't bear to rewatch it for a very long time. It does look a little dated now but the show is superb. Also, the way it was written with a story arc affected contemporary shows like DS9 that then moved into more of an arc format from their previous episodic formats.

@pimoore I’ve always had a soft spot for Vir Cotto and the way his bumbling character changes over time. B5 took forever to appear on tv in Australia and a sci-fi club I was part of used to watch new episodes together when a member received his VHS tapes from the US. A fun Sunday afternoon!

@meandering Vir was another character that really came to life over the course of the series. Especially during the storyline involving The Shadows. So many fond memories of this show!
