@pimoore I updated the Tufte theme plugin recently. Today I took a look at my site and the sub-title and email to reply to had disappeared. Do you know if this is a result of the updating process?

@crossingthethreshold Not sure why this keeps happening as my understanding is that it’s not supposed to. // @manton

@pimoore @crossingthethreshold I think it depends how you are installing the plug-in. If you are cloning it from GitHub, then your changes are going to overwrite what is there. If you install it from the plug-in directory, though, your changes are stored separately. Does that match what you're seeing?

@manton @pimoore This is what I have done. Please ask if anything is unclear.

I have Blank theme selected and Tufte installed via the plug-in directory. I updated the plug-in at the end of last week. This morning I went to my actual site for the first time since updating the plug-in and noticed both the subtitle and the reply to email had returned to their default state.

@crossingthethreshold I don't see a custom config.json on your site. If you ever installed directly from GitHub and customized it, then deleted it, that would remove the config. I submitted a pull request to @pimoore too that adds a setting so it's easier to customize later.

@manton I have never installed directly from GitHub. Truth be told, I do not know how to.

I followed @pimoore's ReadMe for Tufte. Without repeating it all here, it speaks to adjusting the paramters in the config.json template. Certainly since following those instructions, the subtitle and reply-to email are now as I set them up.

@manton @crossingthethreshold Crap, this totally slipped my mind! I’m going to merge this change and also add the “mailto” parameter into the settings config.

@crossingthethreshold There were just two updates to the plug-in, so the latest version is 1.1.2. After adding Manton’s pull for the subtitle in the settings, I also added a new commit to include the mailto parameter as well. Sorry for the confusion, please let me know if you still have issues going forward!

@pimoore Excuse my lack of understanding here. Is there anything for me to do right now? Should I see an update on the plug-in page (as I'm not at the moment), or will it take a moment to filter through?

@crossingthethreshold I believe it may take a few minutes for it to filter through, perhaps @manton can clarify?

@crossingthethreshold @pimoore Right now the update notice that there is a new version only appears on the Find Plug-ins page (I know, not ideal). Click that and see if it shows up. I just tested it and the Settings button is working! (When Micro.blog doesn't know about a new version yet, an uninstall/install also works.)

@manton @pimoore I followed the instructions, 1.1.2 installed and the settings showed up. I now have the subtitle and my email address entered. Thank you both for your help with this.
