Anyone have a good alternative to Panic’s Code Editor? I’m unlikely to switch now, but would like to be aware of my options.

@mdrockwell do you mean Nova? I switched from Visual Studio Code to Nova once it came available. Not perfect, and a different flow compared to VSC… but I dig it.

@vincent I’m referring to their iOS app “Code Editor”. It’s a terrible name. They just announced that it’s being discontinued. panic.com/blog/the-...

@mdrockwell I need to edit code twice a year on my phone. Small, basic, things. I like Textastic for that. Not sure how it handles professional level editing.

@mdrockwell I use Textastic. It does offer FTP support, SSH, WebDAV, and others that I don't use. I'm not a heavy coder but I do enjoy using Texastic when I do.

@mdrockwell Am I the only one who read that article and is second guessing whether they should switch back to a Mac?

@pimoore I'm right there with you. I went iPad only back in 2016, then I bought my Mac mini in 2018 because I needed a "computer" for work, but I ran it headless from my iPad ever since, but now I'm thinking I'll buy the 16" M1 Macbook Pro once/if Apple releases it because the iPad has all the power in the world but a severely shackled OS to run on it.
