It’s not my favourite thing to do but we’re taking advantage of the Boxing Day sales for useful stuff before our trip to GLORIOUS NATION OF U, S AND A. @NTKF cleverly placated me with a double-shot flat white and apple and cinnamon burek before we started.

@martinfeld Heh. I too succumbed to Boxing Day Sales when I learned the expensive Dyson heater / fan our male dog Oshi blew up by peeing on it was available at a reduced price. Then we bought a different brand. And I wanted to lash out on new towels too.

@Miraz The Dyson fans look very nice! Are they HomeKit compatible?🤔 I got myself a cheap Matsui fan years ago, and I have it still. But now I’ve hooked it up to the Netatmo now.

@odd I don't know about Homekit sorry. Don't use it or even plan to use it.

@odd unfortunately they’re not, you need to run them through a smart plug to get any sort of automation.

@matpacker Well, I guess that makes sense, since the market is pretty small, I imagine. But I’ve seen fans with remote controls, with several buttons, I suppose for on/off, rpm and maybe temperature/humidity.

@odd Yeh, I saw some the other week, was blown away by the options, but none of them was “smart” unfortunately. I can imagine there’s more of a market for smart humidifier/air purifiers. Personally, I love devices I can automate, or at least have some sort of control over when I’m not in the house.

@odd @matpacker The Dyson heater / fan the dog blew up had a remote for temperature, fan, beam width, on / off. The new DeLonghi also has a remote with similar functions.
