I think one of the cutest American customs is the little wave drivers give cyclists after almost driving them off the road. Looking at you, UPS truck.
@spgreenhalgh Those drivers ought to get better paid and have better working conditions in general. They are almost unable to go to the toilet for hours to keep the schedule, and are given all too tight schedule. Management should give more of the earnings to the drivers. Not unique to UPS, but I believe they’re some of the worst off. All that said, there’s no reason to be like a jerk in traffic. 🚚
@odd Agree on all counts, and I could have left the UPS detail out too. Plenty of cars have done that to me, so no reason to single them out because it was one of their trucks today.
@spgreenhalgh I didn’t mean to criticize you for it, I just happen to know someone that has been a driver for them. I guess most professional drivers can be edgy because of how little they earn and how much they have to do. I believe it is still possible to restrain oneself though.
