@cliffordbeshers strainer? You know, for draining excess water from food or maybe tea leaves?

cliffordbeshers

@vincent That's part of it.

@cliffordbeshers cool. Now just to figure out what is actually happening 😅

@cliffordbeshers Is it a French press?

@odd No, but you have the essential elements. It's just not that well-defined.

@agilelisa Interesting. That sort of screen, but no, it's a kitchen sieve.

@pimoore The screen is just a kitchen sieve, but there is another part.

@cliffordbeshers A drain sieve?

@cliffordbeshers You are all in the ballpark and there is really little more that is special. @odd is closest perhaps,with the french press. I drained some food, cactching th liquid in a glass container, and it ended upside down, somehow, so I was looking at the mesh through the bend in the round glass. Image to follow in the next post.

@cliffordbeshers Are we seeing the sieve through a transparent plastic or glass object that’s distorting the view a bit?

@cliffordbeshers Aha.. I was late to the party but like this twist!

@fgtech I thought the lensing was pretty obvious, but most people don't seem to notice it.

@cliffordbeshers We have a couple of smaller strainers that have “stretches” in them from rough handling. That’s what I thought I was seeing until I caught your hints.

@cliffordbeshers Thanks. Sadly, (well, good for me), I fell asleep before having more tries. Makes totally sense now that I know the answer of course! 😅
