Before the Storm

Just before the rain came pouring down, with sound effects.

We were in the middle of a huge glass of beer and a ton of fries.

Actually I’ve been thinking about you a lot these days. Just over the horizon, about an hour or so away, lies the biggest mountain range in the country (Serra da Estrela). It’s a National Park, and home to the tallest mountain in the mainland. It’s been burning, for almost a week now.

As we drive around, to the beach and elsewhere, we’re constantly seeing the planes that are fighting the fire. Yesterday it rained like crazy, but the rain never made it to the mountain 😔
