@Gaby I feel and understand the emotion of this in my very core. You have no reason to feel wrong, weak, or damaged for having a mental health challenge. The fact you’re reaching out and seeking help as well as sharing your story, both take immense strength and courage. I hope you’re able to find peace and happiness you deserve.

@Gaby I cannot offer better advice than what others have already said but I’ll say this, you’re not alone. In your life and in feeling what you’re feeling. Focus on what makes you happy and content. Take your medications. Spend time with your family. Or even alone with your thoughts. I went through a rough patch few years ago and am still not completely out of it. But it’s a process. Just focus on the next day.

@Gaby Not a lot I can say, and others have said so many things that make sense for me. Take care of yourself, take the medicine, hopefully you’ll start to feel better again. Sending you love.

@Gaby I've been there (actually, I still am there). It takes time and patience, and sometimes despair, but there is a way out.

@Gaby I’ve been there, and have had several hospitalizations, but mostly for anxiety. Only had a real depression once, and remember that as being worse, because with anxiety you can get anxious and do stuff, but with depression I didn’t feel like doing anything. Keep close to those who matter, take the meds, and up them - or ask if you can try something different if the ones you’re taking doesn’t work. Have the therapy, and be open with them. If you have traumas, tell them. Try not to self-medicate. You’re worth having the best life you can have.

@Gaby I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Please know you're not broken, or damaged! Depression is an illness, and like many other chronic illnesses, it can be mitigated with treatment, so I'm glad you've started seeking that out already. Take care, and I'm wishing you all the best ❤️

@Gaby "Damaged goods" and "broken" are the lies the depression tells you. You have a chronic illness. Chronic illnesses have flares and they require management. You are taking the right steps to manage yours. I have been where you are with depression and right now I'm there with hypothyroidism. It always sneaks up on me. I always wonder how I let things get bad. I'm working on being gentler with myself about this. I hope, in time, you'll be gentler with yourself, too.
