A very welcome sight this morning. Equipment has arrived and work on the creek relocation project has started. A year and two weeks since the bank washed away and collapsed behind our garage.
@toddgrotenhuis they are taking out a large bend behind our house and the next 3. We are all on the outside of the bend, so the creek has been moving toward those properties 30ft since ‘98.
The new creek bed is getting moved 100-150ft away from its current location to the middle of the floodplain it currently can’t get to because it’s drifted and cut so much. The dirt from cutting the new bed is supposed to be used to shore up the bank.
@odd we made a lot of noise to make it happen. The threat of loosing 4 properties off the tax sheet if nothing is done certainly helped also. We were hoping it would have started soon, but thrilled it has.
