@cheri I read your newsletter, and although I’ve never read Nancy Drew books (those were for gurrrls!) I’ve read almost all the Hardy Boys books, (or Hardly Boys, as they were called in Southpark). The story was the same: Ghost writers. When I was a tween I thought Franklin W. Dixon was the best author in the world, little did I know. In adult age, I’ve read a book about the Stratemayer Syndicate and the Hardy Boys that were interesting. In fact, about 15 years ago I started collecting the Hardy Boys books again, and read several, and I had a good time doing it, but some of the charm was lost.
