I replaced the wheels on my new IKEA desk chair, a brilliant mod suggested by my friend @Burk. I can zoom around the apartment. 🏎(Micro.blog photoblogging challenge, Day 14)

@jean Excellent! I’m not sure my non-IKEA desk chair can be modded this way.

@jean Unfortunately my desk is on carpet so I can’t do this at home, but I do at work all the time. Does that make me lazy that I don’t get up? Likely. Does it also make me a kid at heart and not care in the slightest because I’m having too much fun?

Very likely.

@jean I did the same just a few weeks ago. It's so much better.

@jean Could you get a bit more specific?? I've got the Markus chair from IKEA and bigger wheels would be great!

@joshuapsteele I’m also interested. Looked at IKEA-Hackers, but couldn’t find it there. @jean @burk

@joshuapsteele @odd The brand is Opttico. They make wheels for non-IKEA chairs too. So be careful you get the right ones.

@jean Thanks! My chair is a Norwegian brand (HÅG), but I’ll check if the bolts are the same dimension as another brand.

@odd I got the OPTTICO wheels. Whichever you get, just make sure the stem size is correct. Most chairs seem to be 11mm but the IKEA chairs are 10mm.

@Burk Great, thanks! I’ll have to check the diameter with calipers(?) to be a 💯.
