@mdrockwell I think Apple prefer being recognizable (screen with chin) instead of being generic (the screen only). This doesn't explain everything, though.

@numericcitizen they could always put the logo on the bezel under the display, though. That's what they did with their Thunderbolt and Cinema Displays.

@numericcitizen I guess that's possible, but I'm not sure if reducing height and width while increasing thickness would result in an increased amount of material used. I haven't done any of the math on that, though.
