PSA: Ghost Fries are not waffle fries featuring Caspar the Friendly Ghost. They are evil potatoes that will burn your face off from the inside out.

@ChangelingMx In Aotearoa New Zealand fries are often called chips. We had a famous “Ghost Chips” TV advertisement a few years ago — take a look: NZ Anti-Drink Driving Commercial - Legend - YouTube (1 minute):

You know I can't grab your ghost chips!

@Miraz In this Norwegian commercial they are called “opphøggde potteter» (chopped up potatoes), but we’re really calling them “pomm-frits” or “pomm-fritt” (Fr: pommes frites). @changelingmx

@odd When I lived in Germany they were called Pommes Frites as well (I think — that was about 30 years ago now…)

@Miraz Didn’t know that. There were a boy in my class in higher ed that had the first name Frits, and he was called “Pomm Frits” in the start. We were very childish still. It got old. 🍟
