I found Roberta (1935) a bit strange when I watched it in my 20s (long fashion shows!), but now in my 40s it is adorable. The music is absolutely superb, particularly Ginger Rogers’ I’ll Be Hard To Handle accent and Fred Astaire’s routine for I Won’t Dance. A beautiful film.

@adoran2 Do you have all these gems on disk, or is there a streaming service that has many (good) old movies?

@odd I’ve got eight of the Fred and Ginger films on DVD, and a sprinkling of Astaire’s other movies. I bought Roberta on iTunes; apparently MGM bought it at one point and kept it out of circulation because they were remaking it, so it hasn’t always been easy to obtain.
