Craft vs Notion From a Blogger’s Perspective numericcitizen.me

@numericcitizen I love Craft, and would like to see the publishing features you mention. But I do have one question. "Craft falls in the same category of apps like Notion, Roam, Obsidian and DEVONthink, just to name a few." @viticci has said this, too, and I'm not sure I understand why. Is it because of backlinks? Roam and Obsidian are all about the graphs, which none of the others apps offer. I was never able to make Notion work the way my brain does. I love the idea of Roam and Obsidian (and now Hypernotes but I haven't spent a lot of time bending them to my will. I do use DEVONthink, but really only as a really powerful Finder.

In the end, I think of Craft as a really, really great notes app—the best notes app, perhaps—rather than a PKM. Maybe I'm just not using Craft to its fullest potential. I usually have trouble dreaming up extended use cases for apps and need others to show me the way. The problem, of course, is in order to learn about those extended use cases, you have to spend a lot of time. There are a lot of apps I want to spend a lot of time with.

@gpittman by the way of lining Craft pages together, creating a web of information tidbits, Craft does look like Roam of Obsidian. Linking to a page creates a backlink on the target to the source page; making content navigation similar to the actual Internet.

@numericcitizen I do understand that. I was wondering if there was something else I was missing. When I think of Roam and Obsidian, the GUI of the graph is foremost in my thoughts. From a technical standpoint, you're exactly right; Craft does do very much the same thing, just without the graphic organizer.
