Question for 1Password users… When I generate a new password I always get two entries in 1P. One generically named www.whatever.com and one named the service after I log in. Am I the only one? Am I doing something wrong?

@cdevroe huh. Nope, when I generate a login, I usually do it from the website which I’m creating the login for. Then a few manual steps later, I have a single login. How do you generate your passwords?

@nitinkhanna I open the browser extension, hit Generate New Password, hit Save+Copy, paste into the site I'm signing up to. Then, when I log into that site, it asks me to save it under the proper name, so I do. Resulting in two entries.

I don't know another way. May have to watch some YouTube videos.

@cdevroe hmmmmm. Yeah save copy is not a good way.

Most of my experience with creating new accounts is on mobile, where the interface asks for username, registers the domain etc.

@cdevroe I think I know the problem - the second time, you’re not supposed to create that new user. You’re supposed to update the existing. It’s an item in the drop down menu!

@nitinkhanna I'll give that a try.

@nitinkhanna this might be a common problem with password managers and browsers?
