And then all the fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors went off at 1 AM and wouldn't stop so we called the fire department.

...better safe than sorry.

Epilogue, all the detectors were alerting us to the fact that we'd left windows open and that it was now foggy inside of our house.

@eli Hooray for life-saving technology, a safe ending to the tale, and a funny story that you can tell for years to come :-)

@MarcoInEnglish @smokey thanks! It ended up being a fun adventure (save for our neighbors, I imagine 😬). It was also fun to see all of the fire fighters and their amazing mustaches, too. Totally next level facial hair.

@eli Yikes. Our alarms did that one night at 4:30am. It was fire instead of CO and stopped after 30 seconds (about the time it took for me to run up, down, and around our house) so we knew it was a false alarm. Everyone else in the family went back to sleep immediately.

@sirshannon it can really get the adrenaline pumping going from sleep to racing around the house checking for fire. Better than cross fit…or worse?

@eli Oh man. Better safe than sorry, I guess... but man. What awful timing.
