I don’t really understand the urge to split email into multiple inboxes — for conversations, promotions, newsletters, etc. I feel like that’s what every new email app/service does and I just don’t get it. I want less inboxes in my life, not more.

@mdrockwell I don’t like multiple inboxes either, but I think the intent is for you to ignore all of them except the primary one. It is difficult to start doing because you have to be comfortable with the fact that you will occasionally miss an email you would have wanted to open timely.

@mjdescy @mdrockwell This has been the biggest adjustment for me. I like Hey's idea that "The Feed" is something you just ignore and maybe check once a day, but I always feel pulled to checking it often anyway.

@mjdescy I don't know, I guess I just unsubscribe a bit more readily than others. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@mdrockwell I agree. You need to face what is coming in and delete unsub etc... Want less email - decide to sign up for less crap.

@mdrockwell Have used server side rules to drop mail into folders for years, this seems like just a “smarter” way to do that. Issue with Hey and probably BigMail is the lack of fine grained rules for the categorization.
