So I just had to get a blood test done (for very mundane, routine reasons) and I almost fuckinโ€™ FAINTED ๐Ÿ˜ซ I knew something wasnโ€™t right because the second she put the needle in, pain shot through my forearm to the hand, and then my hand started going numb, and then I started feeling hot... www.jayeless.net

@jayeless I am cursed to experience this almost every time I have a needle stuck in my arm. I also typically get light-headed whenever someone starts bleeding a fair amount.

Yes, my family laughs at me a lot. But I understand what you went through and it's not fun at all.

@Miraz @marclafountain @Bruff Thanks for the sympathy, everyone :) It definitely wasn't fun, and I'm hoping it's not the start of a new trend.

@jayeless That was a horrible experience! Hope it was just a one-off thing and it won't happen again!

@Portufraise Thanks, I really hope so ๐Ÿ™

@Microlorian It wasn't just the fainting itself, but also the intense pain and numbness in my lower arm and hand where the nerve got pinched. It just went on and on and on because she wouldn't remove the needle to try for a better spot, and where it was, the blood was taking foreverrrr to flow into the little tube. I was 90% better three hours later, but the excruciating pain followed by the fainting was really not a fun time.

@jayeless That sounds awful. I'm an occasional blood test fainter, but it does sound like this was hopefully a one-off for you due to the pain. Hope you're feeling back to normnal soon.

@jayeless Oh man, sorry to hear about that. Sounds horrible enough to throw off anyone's day. Did you go alone or did you have someone to accompany you home?

@val Thanks. The clinic is about a 5min walk from home, so I just walked down by myself, which meant I then had to walk home again, haha. But I waited there for a while first, until I'd recovered enough to walk. Then Viv was at home so he could make sure I was OK after that ๐Ÿ‘

@jayeless Yikes, that must've been terrifying. I was petrified of needles as a kid, but thankfully never went through something like this. Glad they were able to quickly help you out.

@jayeless Yikes, that sounds awful! It sounds like she hit a nerve or something? The hand going numb is definitely not a normal thing. I'm glad you're resting! So sorry that happened.

@hollie Yeah, I think it's very likely she hit a nerve ๐Ÿ˜ข Feeling a lot better today, at least.

@jayeless oh, that's good to hear! One of my first thoughts was that I would hate to have to drive myself home or even take public transport home after an experience like that โ˜น๏ธ but glad to hear you're feeling better today
