I just submitted a feature request for WordPress for iOS to make it easier to post status updates. If you use the app and would like to see this feature added maybe go over there and give it a ?

@cdevroe I’m curious, do you ever use the Micro.blog app to post to WordPress? It was designed to streamline this and I wonder if it could be improved further.
@manton I have in the past. But will try again if you'd like my thoughts. A few off-the-top of my head from memory:
@manton Gave it another try. I figured out that I had to back out into the main settings area to choose my blog, and also how to crop (or not) the photo. I guess the only thing left would be the comments bug which might be a WP issue.
@cdevroe Good feedback, thanks. I hoped that WordPress would fix that comments issue, but it's been years so we'll probably work around it in Micro.blog.
@thatguygriff Yeah, we need to move WordPress categories there so it's consistent with Micro.blog-hosted categories.
@manton FWIW, I have not been able to attach photos when posting to my WordPress blog (Rhoneisms) for months. Get a "parse error. not well formed (error -32700)). Used to work fine. Just started happening one day. Posting without photo works fine. Tried deleting app and data and re-setting up; no change. Did not send to @help because I suspect it is an issue with my WordPress.
@cdevroe WordPress bug. For the MetaWeblog API, WordPress disables comments if no value is sent, instead of using whatever default is set for your blog.
@cdevroe I’ve got a bit in my WordPress functions.php that fixes the comments issue. My original code was improved by @colinwalker it is in the end of second section of this gist NB I don’t use all of the functions.php file anymore & any bits I wrote as opposed to borrowed should be treated with caution.
@manton It’s not just @patrickrhone unfortunately. I am getting the exact same error, also only when trying to post photos to my WordPress blog via the app.
Thanks for mentioning it Patrick. I also thought it was something specific to my setup.
@fgtech @patrickrhone Interesting. Maybe some kind of a WordPress plugin is interfering? Or XML-RPC is disabled? We may need to add some more error handling.
@manton In my case, I checked by trying www.patrickrhone.net/xmlrpc.ph... and it returned “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” So it appears enabled.
@patrickrhone @manton @fgtech Have you been able to upload media using any other apps? Like MarsEdit or from within the WordPress app?
Also, what size limitation for files is set on your WordPress blog or PHP in general? The setting is uploadmaxfilesize. That may also create an error.
Lastly, have you tried with different files? WordPress rejects HEIC files directly from iPhone.
@cdevroe For me it is not HEIC (I use "Most Compatible" JPG setting). I've not tried other apps. Been just logging into my site using mobile Safari and uploading via the (crappy on mobile) web interface.
Perhaps I'll download and try an app when I find the time (very busy these days).
@patrickrhone @manton I just tried this again on a whim and a photo post sailed through fine! Not sure if anything was done to fix it but happy it’s working again.
@patrickrhone @manton Posting photos to my WordPress blog via iOS (v2.2 of Micro.blog) seems to be working now, but not via 3.3.2 of Sunlit.
