Speaking of which, any recommendations a Mastodon app for iOS they love?
My preference is either open source apps, or a paid app that supports independent developers.

angelo.micro.blog@pyrmont I used Mast but the notifications stopped working, and a message to the developer led me to believe it was not worth it anymore. Another search led me to Toot!, and I'm loving that. Tons of features, you can customize a bit, multiple accounts made easy, and a great mode where you can add other instances without having an account there, and be able to check their timeline.
Another one that is maybe worth a look is Roma, it looks a bit like Mast...
@maique Roma is a older fork of Mast supposedly more targeted to Pleroma, but it appears to be mostly stale. The Mast developer is trying to sell Mast and has a history of abandoning apps. Probably best to stick to Toot.
@mcg It does look a lot like Mast! I was talking about Mast yesterday, in another place. I was very disappointed with the reply I got from the developer, and someone told me the same thing: he makes a ton of apps and then forgets all about them. I deleted the app after that, and found out about Toot! It's a great experience.
@AngeloStavrow No worries! According to @maique's reply, Mast's notifications might not be working properly any more so another option could be the right choice :)
@pyrmont I installed Mast again, to see if something had changed. At the moment it doesn’t even show up on the notifications tab on the phone’s preferences. Am I alone in this ? Can you set Mast’s preferences as you do other apps ?
@maique Nope, you're right. Notifications seem to be completely absent. I haven't used the app in a while so guess that's something that's happened since then. Thanks for the warning!
