@vincent Does Micro.blog API limit how many posts Gluon can display if you open it after a long time? I opened the app today after ~6 hours but could only see posts going back 3 hours. I could see the rest on the native app. @help.

@pratik One more hand raised for the same issue. I checked after waking up this morning and I can go back only 3 hours. @vincent

@purisubzi @pratik Curios, do y'all usually read in reverse chronological order?

@mcg Not by choice. I do get thrown to the top of the timeline when I launch the app. Need timeline sync. @purisubzi

@mcg What @pratik said. I would love timeline sync. But having written some syncing protocols in a previous life, I know how hard it is to get right!

@pratik @purisubzi hey. I hear you both and itโ€™s a pain point in Gluon. Iโ€™m nearly finished with rewriting the sync and that should solve this once and for all!

@purisubzi @pratik No doubt it's hard to get it right. I find it interesting how we like to complain about the lack of chronological timelines on the big social networks and yet we don't really have them on the alternatives. It's also why I stick to Icro here. It does a good job of holding position and allowing chronological reading.

@mcg Icro looks nice enough, but the lack of in-app browser is something I find hard to deal with. Jumping out of it into Safari every time I'm following a link does not work for me. And custom colors are also nice to have, Icro does not provide this. Other than that, nice app.

@maique It's about what's more important to you for sure. Icro is nice enough and the biggie for me, holds position. Gluon is exceptional, except it looses position and totally skips older posts at times.

@mcg Sure, to each it's own. The dedicated photo posts browser link on top is also really nice. I'll try to use it all day today and see if it grows on me. Thanks for reminding me it's also an available option.

@mcg Thank you for the headsup on Icro. I'll try it out. I think M.b does the chronological timeline well -- I prefer reading it the way it is. I've mulling over what I said earlier and I think my reaction might have been a bit kneejerk in terms of wanting features copied over. One of the reasons why I like it here is that it tries to break the mould of a typical social network. And if I am coming along for the ride, I have to learn what it is rather than trying to see what it can be.

@purisubzi I follow people to read what they have to say, so missing posts due to timeline issues bugs me. Kind of like having and RSS reader that randomly drops posts or... and algorithmic timeline. I completely agree tho that MB is a different place and it's a good thing.
